STOP – Before you cancel your event, read on!

Together we’re stronger – Glasgows is open for business.

Everyone is talking about COVID-19. Yesterday the World Health Organisation officially labelled the coronavirus situation a pandemic. President Trump has just announced a travel ban from Europe. All the things you’ve heard in the media, including the announcement just now about moving in to the “delay” phase, may have led you to consider cancelling or postponing your event.

As event professionals we understand the amount of time, money, sweat (and sometimes tears!) that goes in to organising events, large and small. Our motto is everything is possible, so of course we have some bright ideas and proven solutions to help keep your event alive.

Webinar / live stream – we’re not jumping on the bandwagon here; we have years of experience delivering successful live streams for many happy clients. Whether you’re tied into a venue booking or relocate to a studio, our live streams offer a huge level of interactivity and a great delegate experience, not to mention cost savings.

Virtual events – working closely with our international clients we have taken this a step further to create virtual events that are more than just plenary sessions. Remote delegates can immerse themselves in interactive workshops, network during breaks on our social wall and arrange 1-1 meetings. It’s almost like everyone is in the same room.

Event app – We don’t use an off-the-shelf app; our in-house digital team have developed our event app to be the perfect stand alone or companion to your event, virtual or otherwise.

Film – Maybe you’ve decided that it’s best to postpone your event after all. What better way to keep your delegates up to date and fully engaged than video content from our award-winning production team.

Support for small businesses and freelancers – The event industry relies heavily on small businesses and freelancers all over the country, who are currently facing months of cancellations and uncertainty. Glasgows supports the Together Strong #togetherstrong and Open for Business campaigns #thisshowisopen

Don’t just take our word for it. With less than a week’s notice, we helped the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) transform their existing 3-day workshop into a virtual event, this week. Over 40 speakers from around the world presented remotely and then everyone came together (virtually) for 4 interactive workshop sessions earlier today, followed by feedback from each working group.

Head of Comms for ECMWF said: “We hold a lot of live events as face to face interaction and collaboration play an important role in advancing science. Working with Glasgows we were able to reinvent this workshop as a virtual event and the feedback from delegates has been fantastic – so much so that we are considering more virtual events in the future.”

Sales pitch over. The point is, there are still plenty of options available, so why not get in touch to find out how we can help you.
